![]() Come in, sit down and have a spot of tea!
The custom of serving tea originated in Great Britain.
Fill your kettle with cold, not hot water,
While the water is heating, fill the tea pot with very hot water. When the water is ready, pour out the hot water. To the pot add your tea leaves or tea bags
Pour the boiling water over the teabags, And then serve immediately, while the tea is hot.
Your tea may be served with sugar
and to be truly British, pour your milk in first!
For your first course you could start with sandwiches.
Chicken salad is a good choice. Other favourites are, cream cheese, cucumber and watercress, and of course, everyone's favourite, peanut butter and jelly. For the second course, serve biscuits with butter and jam.
Then the third course, Cookies and Fruitcake.
Shortbread, lemon biscuits, monkey face cookies, jelly-tart cookies, fruitcake. Yummy! And as if that weren't enough, the fourth course, Desserts
Caramel Pie, Gingerbread, Sponge cake with Orange Coconut Frosting, Strawberries and Cream and of course no tea would be complete without, plum puffs.
Of course the final touch to any tea is flowers from your garden. Big bouquets of beautiful flowers to bring just the right atmosphere to any tea. And if it is the spring, bring in your violets and we will candy them and put them on our cake.
Bye, Bye!
